This book offers detailed but understandable information about Malala Yousafzai, the young woman who stands up for the right to be educated. Frier starts with Malala’s birth and childhood and then goes through important events in Malala’s life. Though the terror of the Taliban is touched upon, it is on a level that educates rather than scares students. The illustrations are beautiful, but I did appreciate that the back of the book includes photos of Malala so that readers can see how she really looks. Perfect book for younger readers.

I’m glad to know about this book. When I see that a book has been translated I sometimes think that could be a negative thing. Malala is an inspirational person and her dedication to education is important to share with students.
