What was the last great book you read?


Rain, Reign by Ann M. Martin

The last book that made you cry?

Rain, Reign by Ann M. Martin. This book hits very close to home. I have a niece who is very similar to the main character in the book.

The last book that made you laugh?


The My Weird School series by Dan Gutman and the Dear Dumb Diary series by Jim Benton. I loved reading these with my daughter and being able to laugh together.

What kind of reader were you as a child? What childhood books and authors stick with you the most?

I was a lazy reader, I only read when I had to. I really loved informational and fact books. I also loved silly books.

What is the best book you were required to read as a student?


Summer of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls

What book did you hate reading as a student?

The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White

What is your favorite book to recommend to children?


I love the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull, the Snoop Troop series by Kirk Scroggs, and the Treehouse series by Andy Griffiths

If you could only bring three books to a desert island, which would you pack?

This is a hard question!

  1. A world atlas to learn where I am
  2. A journal to write the story of my own adventure
  3. Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, I have seen the movie but haven’t read the book
