Chicken Lily

Written by Lori Mortensen, Illustrated by Nina Victor Crittenden

Chicken Lily is an adorable story about Lily, the perfect little chicken. She could do everything well except for getting up in front of people. At school they had a poetry jam and each student would stand in front of class and recite a poem. Lily tried everything she could to get out of it. But with the encouragement of her friends and classmates she discovered she wasn’t “chicken” Lily.

Many students suffer from this same fear of getting up in front of people (adults too!). This looks like a cute book to share and discuss and maybe help oversome some fears.

This book looks adorable. I would love to share this book with students right before our talent show or choir performance. It sounds like it has a great message. Thanks for sharing!
