Pick Your Poison

Ruby Redfort, #6

Written by Lauren Child

Ruby Redfort, genius code breaker, undercover agent, and thirteen-year-old girl, finds trouble at every turn in Pick your Poison. Her town of Twinford, with constant rain and torrential winds, provides the ominous setting as someone is framing Ruby, turning her family and friends against her. Whom can she trust? Why are there advertisements for something called Taste Twister all over town? Who poisoned her mother? Why do the most nefarious criminals want her dead? Between poisonous snakes, evil villains, breaking out of prison, lies, complicated codes using the fourth dimension, and more, Ruby must figure out her most perilous case to date. And brushing up on her martial arts is a must! Pour yourself a glass of banana milk and join Ruby, best friend Clancy, “butler” Hitch and all the rest of a cast of amazing characters in this next to the last book in this series by Lauren Child.

I simply love these Ruby Redfort books. They are smartly written, fast-paced mysteries. The characters, both good and evil, are so well defined and the plots so exciting, these books are a must read for mystery lovers. Moreover, this latest book is so full of twists and turns I just could not put it down! I highly recommend this series and cannot wait for the last book to be published in America.

These books check out okay at Granger. I’m thinking I’ll have to read one over the summer and see if I need to add to what we have.

I hadn’t heard of this series either, From your review, it sounds like I’m really missing out! It sounds like it could be one I recommend to girls looking for spy action books just like I recommend Anthony Horowitz to boys. My summer reading list keeps getting longer!
