All Year Round

Written by Susan B. Katz, Illustrated by Eiko Ojala

Geometric shapes for each month of the year? Yes! From a circle that is part of a snowman in January to December where you skate in a figure eight. The pictures are colorful and fun and the big, block letters are a perfect fit. Some of the rhyming is clunky but I don’t think the target audience (PreK to 1st) will care much. And while some of the shapes by month were brilliant (a cut out heart in February and an octagon stop sign in September) others weren’t very well highlighted (a square box holding flowers in May). A cute and colorful book about shapes and seasons to add to your math or science literature collection.
