Dingus

Written by Andrew Larsen

Henry and his friend Max are in fifth grade this year and things are changing. First of all, Max is spending a lot of time with his chess club friends, which makes Henry feel left out. Second, Henry is upset that Max always gets new expensive things and he doesn’t. His parents try to explain that both of Max’s parents work and he’s an only child. It doesn’t matter to Henry though.

When Henry’s grandpa, Poppy, goes on a camping trip with his friends, he trusts Henry and family to dogsit Rupert, his little wirehaired terrier. Things are going well until Henry lets go of the leash and Rupert runs away.

Henry gets called a dingus by Max who is away at chess camp and soon realizes that being a dingus is much better than a doofus.
