Reunited

Reawakened, #3

Written by Colleen Houck

This book, the finale of the Reawakened series, is really hard for me to describe. The first thing I liked was that each girl in the story gets a voice and they get to show their emotions. This book is told from the character Lily’s perspective but when one of the other girls takes control of her body they also get to tell their ideas and their point of view. This is good because even though Lily is the main protagonist and everything started with her, it’s not just about her anymore. It’s about the lioness and the fairy who have given up almost everything to help Lily in her quests.

The more difficult thing to explain though is Wasret. I will say that how the author brings Wasret into the picture was a great way to bring her into the story. The way it is written is very clear to understand what’s going on and it’s very nicely described.

I love the fact that this whole series is based on Mythology. It’s great to see mythological gods brought down to human level and given human emotions and empathy. There are places where the book is slow and I do think in some spot less information would have made it better. That’s why I gave the book a 4 star.
