Striker

Written by David Skuy

This is an engaging sports story that will keep readers entertained and thinking. It is a fast paced novel about soccer that touches on sensitive issues such as cancer, bullying and racism. Cody hasn’t played soccer for over a year. He had a tumor removed from his leg that was cancerous. He is eager to resume soccer and a normal life. Cody tries out for the Lions and makes the team but only as a “super sub.” What will happen next? This book has a great storyline, is fast paced and interesting in many ways. It will leave readers thinking about the way they treat others and hopefully inspire them to be better.
