Bubbles

Written by Abby Cooper

Sophie’s Mom used to call them the Adventurous Girls. Then Sophie’s mom lost her job at the TV station and broke up with her boyfriend, whom Sophie adored. There is the school project that forces Sophie to take risks when she couldn’t feel less adventurous, as well as a classmate who is trying to steal Sophie’s best friends. It seems like nothing else could go wrong. But there’s more.
Sophie’s started seeing bubbles above people’s heads that tell her what they are thinking. Seeing other people’s thoughts should be really cool, but it’s actually very stressful.

What a fun and delightful twist on how Sophie relates to her Mom, her friends and classmates and how she works through her feelings and knowing more than she should.

I think middle grade readers will enjoy this book.
