Ebb & Flow

Written by Heather Smith

Ebb & Flow is a novel in verse that carefully carries its reader through Jet’s summer of healing. Jet is sent to live with his cotton candy grandma so he can reflect on his bad choices. As Jet learns to forgive himself and fix his mistakes, the reader learns about his previous actions that led to a horrible decision. This book tackles sensitive issues such as having a parent in jail, helping a friend who suffers from parent abuse, and interacting with individuals with disabilities. Everyone will experience high and low periods in their life, and may feel tossed and beaten, but like sea glass we can grow from our experiences.
