Forest’s First Day of School

Wild Child, #2

Written by Tara Zann, Illustrated by Dan Widdowson

This is such a cute story about a young girl named Olive who has a best friend named Forest. She meets forest in the forest in the first book of the series, and that’s how this crazy wild child gets his name. Olive wants to bring Forest home to live with her and they have lots of fun together. Olive, who is a naturally shy person, is excited to have Forest start school for the first time. She thinks that Forest will have a hard time making friends and is a little worried for him but she understands because she’s really shy and knows it can be hard at first. To Olive’s supersize Forest starts making friends right away and she can’t even imagine how!! At first she feels bad about it but then realizes she can make friends too and try things she never thought she would ever dare to try. Cute story for all kids. It also has a great moral about feeling comfortable when trying new things.
