The Crooked Castle

Carmer and Grit, #2

Written by Sarah Jean Horowitz

Felix Cassius Tiberius Carmer III and Grit (a.k.a. Grettifrida Lonewing) are traveling south when they crash into Bell Daisimer, daredevil balloonist. While with Bell, they detect faerie magic surrounding “Rina Tinka’s Roving Wonder Show.” Suspecting that the stolen faerie magic may be linked to the circus, the two delve into its mysteries. The fantasy setting is engaging and well-developed. The characters are likable and realistic. Although the villains seem like typical cartoon villains, the plot is engaging and will appeal to fantasy readers who read the first book in the series.
