Stella Díaz Has Something to Say

Written and Illustrated by Angela Dominguez

Shy third grader Stella Díaz struggles to feel like part of the puzzle. Not only is Stella shy but she attends speech class, and her best friend is no longer in her class, making life a little lonely. Stella wants to make new friends, but she is anxious and tends to mess up her words, mixing English and Spanish or not pronouncing words properly. Stella endures the bullying, mess-ups, and family issues in her timid way. Will she learn to shine like the star she is named after? Will she find her voice to say what she needs to say? A relatable story sprinkled with Spanish words here and there, and with simple black-and-white drawings that create a remarkable read!
