Hero Rising

Darkmouth, #4

Written by Shane Hegarty

This is the fourth book in the Darkmouth series. Having not read the other books, I was kind of worried about picking this up, but it was not a disappointment.

Poor Fin is up to his tricks again as he tries to save his world from the Legends on the infested side. His family has lost their house. His dad has been stripped of the title of Legend Hunter, and instead given the title of animal groomer at the local pet shop. The town leader is trying to frame Fin’s family for the trouble the town is now in. His mother wants nothing more than to go to Smoofyland on vacation.

Fin and his friend Emmie spend the book finding clues, darting in between worlds, and trying to stop the worst creature ever from entering their world. There are some comical surprises along the way which make this book a true joy to read. I can’t wait to put the first three in the Library.
