The Squirrels’ Busy Year

A First Science Storybook

Written by Martin Jenkins, Illustrated by Richard Jones

Two squirrels are the focus of this book about seasons. Using clear and simple text, accompanied by rich, beautiful illustrations, young readers are introduced to the four seasons. Readers learn about the changes that happen with each season, and how different animals live/survive throughout the year. The color of the illustrations brighten or darken according to the season, helping the reader understand more about the effects of each season. Questions at the end of the book are helpful in teaching a lesson or leading a discussion about weather and seasons to young children.
