The Dragon and the Nibblesome Knight

Written by Elli Woollard, Illustrated by Benji Davies

The Dragons of Dread were a terrible bunch! Dram is the smallest of them all. When he turned four his parents said, “Dram, you’re a baby no more! The nest’s getting cramped and you’ve never once flown. Now go bite a nibblesome knight of your own!” Dram leave’s the nest to find a nibblesome knight to bite and unfortunately for Dram, he crashes and splashes to the ground.

Now young James (who is not a child anymore) must find a dragon to slay. James sees Dram crash and nurses and feeds Dram. James and Dram cannot be anything but friends.

This language in this book reminds me of Alice Through the Looking Glass. The illustrations are beautiful. I think that I am going to use it as a read-aloud for our UBUNTU theme. Loved it!
