Books about the battles of war don’t usually interest me, so I was pleasantly surprised by this book. This is the true story of Ryan Pitts, a Medal of Honor recipient. What really helped me enjoy this book was that chapters 2, 4, 6, and 8 gave me more historical context for what made this battle an important one. It is impressive all that the men in this book went through to keep control of their position. Many men died in this battle and Ryan Pitts humbly honors them in this book. It was my honor to read and learn about these brave men and the sacrifices they made to preserve their comrades lives. I highly recommend it!
