Bronte’s parents have died. It is sad, but she barely knew them. She is quite surprised when their will sends her across the kingdom to deliver special gifts to her relatives. On the way she not only meets unusual creatures like water sprites and elves, but she also gets to know her large and loving family. And despite her proper upbringing, Bronte discovers that she loves adventure! She also discovers something amazing about herself. Students rarely choose larger books nowadays, but if they give this one a try they will be delighted. The writing is clever and interesting and the story is truly enjoyable. Though I was hoping this would be a stand-alone book, Moriarty does such a fine job with character development and story ideas, I am willing to add another series to our shelves.
