Tornado Brain

Written by Cat Patrick

This is the story about Frankie, a fraternal twin who suffers from neurodiverse conditions. She lives in Long Beach, Washington, where at the end of her seventh-grade year, her former best friend Colette shows up missing. Frankie has trouble making friends and is very troubled over her lost friendship. This story has a slowly unfolding mystery as Frankie and her twin sister, Tess, try to help the police find Colette. The story was far deeper than I anticipated, and I liked how it was told in the perspective of a neurodiverse character. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and helped me to be more empathetic to others and their needs.
