Cities in Layers: Six Famous Cities through Time

Written by Philip Steele, Illustrated by Andrés Lozano

Cities in Layers is packed full of information and beautiful illustrations to show what 6 different cities have looked like through time. The six cities—Rome, Istanbul, Paris, Beijing, London and New York City—all date back hundreds, if not thousands of years. As a result, each city has many layers of history, development, and natural resources that are illustrated beautifully in this book.

The six cities are divided up into their own chapters, detailing famous people who have lived there and what life was like at various times throughout the ages. But the real magic of the book is in the 3-page illustrations that overlay on top of each other, showing the changes through time.

Students who love pouring books with lots of small detail or who love history will really like this one!
