Sunny-Side Up

Written by Jacky Davis, Illustrated by Fiona Woodcock

This book has a fun and interesting way of introducing kids to the idea that they CHOOSE their attitude about difficult situations. The main character has to decide how she is going to handle her sadness when she realizes it is raining outside and she really wants to play outside. Her dad helps her navigate the situation in a more positive way, but what really makes the difference is how she CHOOSES to use her imagination and make a bad-weather day into a fun inside day. This book would appeal most to Kindergarten to Second Graders.
