Lubaya’s Quiet Roar

Written by Marilyn Nelson, Paintings by Philemona Williamson

This book, beautifully illustrated with the realistic paintings of Philemona Williamson, captures the eye of children who can relate to the main character. Lubaya is a quiet, observant, imaginative child who likes to draw. When left to her own devices, she chooses to draw and utilizes the resources available to her. When there is a need for her recycled paper to go back to it’s original purpose, Lubaya finds that she really does have a strong voice.
