Clues to the Universe

Written by Christina Li

I really enjoyed this book. It reminds me of Hello, Universe by Erin Entrada Kelly, which I also loved. This book addresses many relevant topics, like grief, loss of a loved one, bullying, abandonment, and friendship. Ro and Benji go on quite the journey in this book! It felt like this could have happened to kids in our school. The thing I like best about this book is that the two main characters are unlikely friends. They are pushed together early on in the book and find reasons to continue their friendship. Both the main characters grow so much and it is easy to want them to succeed.

I think I will recommend this book to kids who like realistic fiction and mystery books. It’s a great read and a window into the lives of those who get bullied and are left in a mess of divorce and loss.
