Final Season

Written by Tim Green

This was a timely book for our library. It is already checked out. I’ve had requests for more football books and this fits the bill perfectly. Tim Green’s writing flows well and is easy to read. The story is based loosely on his own family’s experience which makes it that much more believable.

Ben is the quarterback on his 6th grade team and he loves being coached by his dad and brothers. His dad is a former NFL player and both his brothers played up through college. With his dad’s diagnosis of ALS and his subsequent deterioration, his family becomes stressed and life is not as easy as before. This could possibly be Ben’s last season, at least playing with his dad and brothers as coaches. How will the season turn out? I encourage you to read and find out.

Kids who like football and books about friendship and family and sports will find this an easy book to read.
