New from Here

Written by Kelly Yang

New From Here is a brand new book from the best selling author of Front Desk and Three Keys. The story is about a ten year old boy named Knox who has to move from his hometown in Hong Kong to California because of the COVID virus. His best friend, his father, has to stay behind to work and his brother doesn’t get along with him. He struggles with being the new kid at school and also with the rising racism that grows during COVID-19.

This book was very well written, easy to read, and it address current issues that are happening in the world today. Knox was very likable and the story comes from his point of view.

Anyone that has enjoyed reading Front Desk will also like this new story from Kelly Yang. It is another endearing story of family, resilience and Asian culture.
