Looking for a Jumbie

Written by Tracey Baptiste, Illustrated by Amber Ren

Going on a jumbie hunt can be a little scary. However, as Naya recites “I’m looking for a jumbie, I’m going to find a scary one.” She finds her jumbies and it gets less and less scary. But Mama says jumbies exist only in stories… As Naya sets out on a nighttime adventure to find out for herself, she finds some interesting friends, each different and vibrantly brought to life. A fun read-aloud inspired by traditional Caribbean tales and a little girl who is determined not to be afraid of the dark, or the creatures that may or may not be lurking waiting for a child to be out of bed.
