Poultrygeist

Written by Eric Geron, Illustrated by Pete Oswald

Here is a story of an unlucky chicken. All he wanted to do was cross the road to get to the other side. But he didn’t quite make it. Now he is with all the other “unlucky” animals that didn’t make it across the road, telling chicken what he needs to do now. He will eventually decide his own path.

If you have students that want something a little scary but mostly silly, this is a great book that can be read out loud to children of any age. The illustrations are on a dark background that gives it a bit of a spooky vibe, but are also fun, and go along with the story well.
