The Rise (and Falls) of Jackie Chan

Written by Kristen Mai Giang, Illustrated by Alina Chau

Jackie grew up poor and penniless. He often acted silly and loved to make others laugh, getting him into trouble often at school. As a young boy, Jackie’s father enrolled him in a Drama Academy for other children like him, where he would stay for the next 10 years. This taught him who he was and helped decide who he would become.

I thought this was a great biography of Jackie Chans’ life that mainly focused on his childhood. It was interesting to learn what led him to become famous.
