Ducks Overboard!

A True Story of Plastic in Our Oceans

Written and Illustrated by Markus Motum

Ducks Overboard! is the journey of a plastic duck from the factory to the bathtub. The shipping container containing the plastic ducks is washed overboard. The container is damaged and the ducks are released in to the ocean. One duck acts as narrator and tells of the things that he sees in the water…life and garbage. Most of the garbage is plastic and that plastic is not good for the ocean or ocean animals. Some ducks travel far, some journey for years, and some get caught in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Scientists have tracked these plastic ducks to research ocean currents. A perfect way to start a conservation about the world and the effect people have on it.
