I’m not sure how to even summarize this novel other than to say what an unexpected adventure! This book begins with Jacob and the brutal death of his aging grandfather. Jacob finds that the stories his grandfather told him all those years ago weren’t just his imagination. From there the adventure begins!
Very unique and imaginative, this book took me on an adventure I didn’t anticipate. The photographs in the book were excellent and added to the experience and enhanced the mystery of the book. What a great first book!

The look and feel of this book were sleek, really making it appealing. The jacket, the bright white smooth pages, the amazing real vintage photographs- all excellent. Make sure you read the actual book, not the ebook. All those photos are engrossing and important as well.
Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this ghostly, time travel, carnivalesque, story. I am not a big fan of the freaky, horror, weird, genre. This was well written and a real page turner.
Leaves room for a sequel. And some great speculation.
