Return to Exile

The Hunter Chronicles, Book 1

Written by E. J. Patten , Illustrated by John Rocco

After eleven years of playing games and solving puzzles with his Uncle Phineas, Sky Hunter finds that his uncle’s teaching was not all just fun and games. Moving once again back to Exile, the little town where his family once lived, he and his family are thrown into the midst of monsters, the likes of which Sky had read about in the books he received from Uncle Phineas. Uncle Phineas missed Sky’s twelfth birthday, so the mysteries begin when Sky begins his search for his beloved uncle, complicated by being the new kid at school.

This complex story is filled with thrilling discoveries and battles that kept me reading on for more. I just had to know what was going to happen next. Sky is a young man that I’m certain many teen boys can relate to, just a little different from those around him, yet unique and talented in his own right. He becomes friends with some of the most unlikely kids at school, and together they unravel the riddles and fight hard to save what is most important to each of them. Many of his friends are very smart, strong young women with whom the teen girls will cheer on in the battle between good and evil.

  2. This sounds like an amazing fantasy book for both boys and girls in the upper grades. And a Utah author too. I would love our library to have a copy.

Our students love Utah authors and this sounds like a book they would love, too. Rosecrest wants a copy!

  4. This would interest our upper grade classes. We are always looking for new books that will “hook” our student’s so they will continue to read the rest of the series!

  5. Our students love Utah fantasy authors as well. Would love to introduce them to this book and author!
