Written by Robert Beatty
Serafina is an orphan who secretly lives in the basement of the Biltmore Estate with her adoptive father, a maintenance man. The only rule is that she must never be seen. One day she sees a man in a black cloak make a child disappear. Other children start disappearing as the black cloaked figure haunts the hallways at night. Soon she joins forces with Braeden (the owner’s nephew). What they find will haunt you.
The twists and turns will delight students that like thrillers (with a little magic) and even Mary Downing Hahn.
