The Red Prince

the-red-princeWritten by Charlie Roscoe, Illustrated by Tom Clohosy Cole

On an island lived a king and queen and their son, the prince. Everyone lived happily and cared about each other. One day the prince’s parents set off on a voyage and left the prince in charge. That night a big storm blew in. Everyone shut their doors and lit their fires. So no one saw the black ships that silently sailed into the harbor. Strangers crept ashore in the darkness and seized the city, and captured the prince. They locked the prince away in a fortress for days. The prince lost all hope. But then, one night he saw a chance to escape. The prince ran and ran. Everyone helped to hide the prince. The strangers finally gave up and sailed away…never to return. Wonderful illustrations.
