super-gearHow the Science of Nanotechnology Is Changing Sports

Written by Jennifer Swanson

Truly, science is a part of every aspect of life. Nanotechnology is the science of the very small, such as atoms and nanoparticles. This book focuses on how various sports, athletes, and retail companies have used science to strengthen equipment, enhance the game, and give players an edge. Swanson first teaches the science and then explains how it is put to work. One example is that to strengthen a golf club, carbon nanofibers are fit between the graphite strands within the club. The glossary in the back is very helpful and the “Super Facts” scattered through the book add an element of fun. Wonderful book!

Looks like a book for those who enjoy science. But the cover is bright enough to draw others in and the sports enthusiasts should love it.
