Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Based on the Song by Felix Bernard and Richard B. Smith, as sung by Peggy Lee

Words by Dick Smith, Illustrations by Tim Hopgood

All the fun that celebrates the Winter season is captured in this beautifully illustrated tribute to the classic song “Winter Wonderland.” The reader follows a family as they spend the day in the forest, playing and enjoying the fun of Winter. Then back they come to the warmth of home. This is a great book to add to a library’s collection of winter books and would be fun to either read aloud or sing together. The illustrator remarks at the end of the book, “No matter how old you are, I think the wonder and excitement of waking up to a world under a blanket of snow still remains, because as the song says, there’s nothing quite so thrilling as a snowfall! And that’s what this book is all about; the joy of being outside on a beautiful snowy day.” I think he successfully captured that feeling.
