Rain

By Sam Usher

Have you ever had to cancel plans because of rain? This book is about a little boy who learns to look forward to the fun he and his granddad have when it rains. They splash in puddles, catch the drops, and even sail in a boat. It was a fun book to read and I thought the book was beautifully done. The best part was when they were done playing in the rain and they sat down to a nice hot cup of cocoa.

I love the cover on this book. This would be a great one to share right now because of the rain we’ve been having. It looks like it would be great paired with books on weather or grandparents.

  2. Ditto what Christine said. Also, the story-line just warmed my heart because my littlest granddaughter and I love to sail wooden boats down the gutter when it rains and splash in puddles. Hot chocolate is a must afterwards. What a great book! Thank you for a great review!

  3. Ever since I watched my daughter splash in puddles as a child, the rain is special to me. I’ll have to tell her about this book.

  4. I recently read this too. The pictures in it are so fun! They kind of reminded me of Quentin Blake’s work.
