What kind of reader were you as a child? What childhood books and authors stick with you the most?

I didn’t enjoy reading until the summer I was ten years old. I would ride my bike to the Edmonds City Library and go straight to the children’s fiction section of the library. There I would look for just the right book. Often the librarian would come to make good suggestions for me. One in particular I read that summer was Harriet the Spy by Louis Fitzhugh. Others were the Boxcar Children and The Secret Garden.

I love the beauty of the National Parks book. And I like that you would take “Anne of Green Gables” to the island.

I am so glad to see Kristen on the website. We have had many chats through the years. I loved the war that saved my life. It was my Beehive choice this year. I hope you are having a great summer. I also loved Les Miserables back in the day. I don’t know that I would take the hours to read that one again. I will always love the play and music however. See you soon.
