Dolls of War

The Friendship Dolls, #3

Written by Shirley Parenteau

The setting of this book is in Oregon in during the early 1940s. Mary James’ father is the curator of a museum, which houses 58 Japanese dolls, which were a gift to America from Japan. Many residents in the town want to destroy the dolls after the bombing of Pearl Harbor because they looked at these objects as the enemy.

Through the story, I recognized that life is precious and that the enemy may not be who/what we think it is.

This is the third book in the “Friendship Dolls” series.
