The Astronaut Who Painted the Moon

Written by Dean Robbins, Illustrated by Sean Rubin

This book follows the true story of Astronaut Alan Bean. He visited the moon on the Apollo 12 mission. After his time on the moon recording the things he saw, he came back to Earth and began to paint the moon the way he saw it. This story is very intriguing, and the illustrations are very well done. I would definitely recommend it to classroom teachers.

  1. I was glad to see that the author included some of Bean’s paintings too (I would have liked more!). What an interesting person to learn about–a STEAM role model if there ever was one!
