This book went on my “to read” list when I first read the Booklist review and when it was offered as a publisher review book, I snatched it right up. I COULD NOT put this book down and read it all in one sitting. First of all, I love the cover and the title. Clarity Fern lives with her brother, Periwinkle (Perry), and mother in a New England tourist beach town. They each have unique abilities. Clarity can see things no one else can see, Perry can talk to dead people, and Mom is a mind reader. When there is a murder in their town the police recruit Clare for whatever insight she might have. Loved the characters– all of them. The plot was intense and the ending very satisfying.
I emailed Ms. Harrington and asked her if this book was going to be a series. Within 5 minutes she responded. Yes it is, and the next book will be published in March 2012. I think this is an author that is going to be very successful.
