Delirium

Imagine a world where love is a dirty word.

Written by Lauren Oliver

Imagine a world where love is a dirty word, where your future spouse is chosen for you, where people are not allowed to touch in public, where your mind is altered and you are unable to recognize or express passion in any way. Well this is the world Lena Holoway lives in, and as her cure date approaches she begins to question the cure’s value and whether living in the constant peace the cure provides or in the upheaval of life’s passions, both good and bad, is preferable. Oliver’s novel is a roller coaster ride about the struggle between a “utopian” society and the life of the natural man. It is well worth the read.

  1. I bumped this review to the top for today because they published a new special edition and we have a copy of it to give away! Strange because it is only 8 months old and had a pretty good cover design in the first place, but we’ll take it.

So leave a comment on this post before 11/9/2011 if you want a chance to win it. (If you are in a secondary school library in Granite School District.)

  2. I really enjoyed this authors first book Before I Fall, and this one is definitely on my ‘to read’ list. Just havent gotten to it yet!
