The Runaway King

runawaykingThe Ascendance Trilogy, Book 2

Written by Jennifer Nielson

Jaron has just taken the throne and is attending the funeral for his assassinated family, when an attempt is made on his own life. He soon realizes that he is not safe as the King. He also comes to realize that his regents are ready to put a temporary ruler in Jaron’s place until he is ready to be King, and intend to send him away for his own safety. Jaron finds that he feels they are not handling this as they should and finds himself forced to run from his identity and do what he can to save his kingdom. Jaron also finds it very necessary to distance himself from those he cares for or the pirates and his other enemies will hurt them. This is a very exciting story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can hardly wait for the third book.
