Sweet Buttercup

Sweet ButtercupSilver Pony Ranch, #2

Written by D.L. Green, Illustrated by Emily Wallis

This second book in the series Silver Pony Ranch is a great beginning chapter book for someone who doesn’t want to read Magic Tree House or Junie B. Jones. While the story will appeal more to girls, boys shouldn’t have a problem reading it either.

Tori and Miranda love spending summers at their grandma’s ranch, where they not only get to ride horses all summer, but they also get to play with puppies and make new friends. Ashley and her parents are renting a house and are boarding Ashley’s horse at the ranch. Miranda and Tori are excited to meet someone their own age, but soon realize that not everyone is a nice person. Will the horse competition be ruined due to Ashley’s bad attitude or will Miranda and Tori save the day when something happens to Ashley?

A great story that deals with friendship and what happens if you don’t win first place.
