Hillary Rodham Clinton : Some Girls Are Born to Lead

Hillary Rodham Clinton - Some Girls Are Born to LeadWritten by Michelle Markel, Illustrated by LeUyen Pham

This book showcases Hillary as a woman who cracked the glass ceiling on the limitations placed upon women in law and politics. It is a biography of her life and ideals from birth but does not include anything past her being the Secretary of State. There is no reference of her running for President, except for a one liner on the back page timeline. And of course, the book was written before the 2016 elections, so no outcome of that. Everything is very positive and inspiring. I think this is a good biography for an elementary library about a woman who paved the way for women around the world as a New York Senator during the Twin Tower attacks of 9/11, and as the Secretary of State. Hillary fan or not, there is nothing to argue with about this book.

The illustrations depict actual events and are as historically accurate as possible. At the back of the book are further details about who all the other people in the pictures are.

I think the book is very well done, inspiring, and informative.
