The Voyage to the Magical North

The Accidental Pirates, #1

Written by Claire Fayers

Brine is the maid to a magician, who doesn’t like her. He also has an apprentice named Peter, and Peter doesn’t like Brine either. When Brine finds out that the magician is planning to send her and Peter to an even more awful man, they decide to run away. They steal a boat and are off on their own adventures. But those adventures didn’t include being captured by pirates. The pirate captain, Cassie, tries to sell them to a man in exchange for goods to last their next adventure.
I thought of this book as Pirates of the Caribbean meets Harry Potter. The book dragged on forever until the last 15 chapters or so and then it got interesting, before the last 4 or 5 got boring again.
