Stick Dog Craves Candy

Written by Tom Watson, Illustrated by Charles Grosvenor and Tom Watson

Stick Dog has four very different friends who like to go on adventures. In this book, the dogs are searching for food, when one of the friends mentions seeing witches in the kitchen of a house. Stick Dog realizes it must be a human holiday while trying to convince his friends that witches don’t really exist.

I’ve never read a Stick Dog book and I’m not going to pick up another one. Maybe the story would have made more sense if I’d read the first six, but I thought the story and Stick Dog’s friends were seriously lacking. I can see why kids like the stories, but it’s not something I’d recommend to people over the age of 11.
