Bramble and Maggie: Snow Day

Written by Jessie Haas, Illustrated by Alison Friend

While Maggie and her family are preparing for the imminent snow storm, Bramble is outside taking advantage of his unlatched barn door. He is loving the feel of the falling snow. In the morning, Maggie soon finds him and together with her father, start helping to dig out themselves as well as their neighbors. Everyone makes the best of the big storm while waiting for help to arrive. This is a lovely little story about kindness, friendship and a snowstorm. Watching everyone pull together to create a wonderful winter memory makes you wish you lived in Maggie and Bramble’s neighborhood. I liked the shorts easy chapters and the illustrations lend to the feeling of freshly fallen snow. Sweet book for beginner readers and horse lovers.
