The Monster’s Daughter (The Ministry of SUITS, #2) by Paul Gamble

The Monster’s Daughter
The Ministry of SUITS, #2
Written by Paul Gamble

This book is the second in The Ministry of SUITS series. Jack and Trudy are recruited to be student spies in the Ministry of Suits. They work together in solving mysteries. Jack is chosen because of his ability to use logic. Trudy is chosen because she is not what she looks like and is actually part monster and has amazing abilities.

This book finds our two heroes at the aquarium, where fish criminals are somehow breaking out of prison. Jack thinks it has something to do with an old lady that he sees walking into the ocean. Another mystery is a drilling platform that appears in the middle of the playing field at school. And finally there is something about the young woman who runs the bath shop and how she looks like the old lady jack saw at the ocean but younger. And why did the bath bomb he bought there explode? All of these mysteries must be solved before all of earth’s landmasses are sucked into the ocean.

This is the first book I have read from this author. It is full of little footnotes and sarcasm that really brings a chuckle. For example, it notes that water is afraid of glass because it knows if it gets caught in a glass it will either be drank or filled with fish poop. Therefore water is afraid of sand because sand has silica, which is the main ingredient for glass. There are also some notes from the ministry which add more character and chuckles for the reader. I would now like to get my hands on book one, so I can see where the
whole thing began. Fun read.
