WeirDo (Series)

Written by Anh Do, Illustrated by Jules Faber

WeirDo (#1)

This book is about an unfortunate boy whose last name is Do (rhymes with “go”) and his first name is his mother’s maiden name… Weir. Yep, Weir Do. Although I got a good laugh a few times from this book, it had a little too much potty humor for me. I do think students will enjoy it. Every page has fun illustrations that make the story come to life. I also appreciate that instead of feeling sorry for himself, Weir makes the best of things.

WeirDo. Even Weirder (#2)

This is the second book about the fun-loving kid with an even funnier name. Weir Do (rhymes with Go) continues his story about going to his crush Bella’s birthday party. Will his crazy family ruin everything… or save the party? Again this book has lots of potty humor (which I’m not much of a fan) but it did make me laugh. I think students will love it.
