My Nana’s Garden

Written by Dawn Casey, Illustrated by Jessica Courtney-Tickle

A beautifully illustrated book with simple wording, but a heart- tugging story. A little girl visits her Nana’s garden and for each thing that she sees being wrong her Nana tells her what benefits they all have. The weeds are wildflowers for the bees, and the crooked tree is a home, snug as can be. Then one day the chair that Nana sits in is empty. The little girl continues to tend the garden and even brings her child to help when she grows up.

This book will be great for anyone who has experienced loss, to see that life continues to bloom and grow and we can keep their memories alive by carrying on their dreams.
